This 16 Days Tribal Wonders of Odisha and Chhattisgarh is a unique cultural journey into the heart of Central India’s most remote and fascinating tribal regions. The itinerary covers vibrant tribal weekly markets, traditional craft villages, ancient temples, Buddhist heritage sites, scenic waterfalls, caves, and forest landscapes.
From the colorful Bonda, Gadaba, Dongria Kondh, Saura, Dhuruba, Maria and Muria tribes to the spiritual experiences of Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar, this tour offers an authentic encounter with indigenous lifestyles, rituals, and traditions—perfect for travelers seeking real tribal culture and unexplored India.
Day 01–Arrival / Delhi- Raipur –
Arrival Raipur airport and meet our representative at the airport and transfer to a decent hotel. Afternoon excursion the Buddhist site- Siripur- depending to arrival time. During evening welcome drink hosted by us and orientation of tribal tour and introduction of the trip & crews.
Day 02-Rajim- Keskal- kanker(190km)
After breakfast checkout from hotel and drive to Kanker. Enroute visit the Prayag of chhatisgarh-“ Rajim” :
Rajim is located on the sangam (meeting points) of three rivers- Mahanadi, Pairy and Sondhu. The prime attraction of Rajim is the Rajivalochana Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple has 12 exquisitely carved pillars with tall single figures with faces of various gods and goddesses sculptured on them. In proximity to the Rajivalochana Temple, there are many other temples dedicated to different incarnations of lord Vishnu such as Vamana (dwarf), Narasimha (human body with face of a lion), Badrinath and Jagannath. The temple of Rajivalochana attracts thousands of devotees from all over India and abroad throughout the year. There is also a magnificent black stone statue of the lord Buddha meditating under the Bodhi tree.
Visit the Keskal area to visit the Maria tribe and explore their life style. Then
drive to Kanker for overnight stay.
Day 3-Kanker- Kondagaon- Jagdalpur (100 Km0
Departure for Jagdalpur Enroute visit the Kondagaon to witness the Dokra craft village also visit the Kumarpara for terakotta handicraft. Then check in a nice hotel at Jagadalpur free afternoon for self. Overnight stay in the same hotel.
D4-Trekking on Maria Tribe village- Tirathgarh waterfall-Kutamsar cave-Maria weekly market-jagdalpur
Morning departure for Maria Tribe village inside of Kanger valley National Park. Visit the sterility natural cave of Kutumsar and explore the Maria tribe life style at their village.
Afternoon visit the Tirathagarh waterfall and the famous colorful weekly market of Maria tribe then return back to Jagadalpur for overnight staying.
D5-Local s/s Jagdalpur- Chitrakot Waterfall- Muria weekly market ( 80 km)
Morning local sight seeing of Jagdalpur afternoon visit the Nigra of India- the famous Chitrakoota waterfall. Enroute enjoy the Muria tribe weekly market. Overnight stay in the same hotel at Jagdalpur.
D6– Kotapad-Textile village- Jeypore ( 70km)
Departure for Jeypore (orissa) enrooute visit the textile village at Kotpad famous for Gonda tribe. Check in a decent hotel of Jeypore for overnight staying.
Day 7- Bonda tribe weekly market- Gaddhava village- Jeypore ( 80 km one way)Drive towards to visit the most primitive colorful tribe of Orissa-“ Bonda” enjoy their primitiveness and their home made alcohol market./ enjoy your packet lunch near waterfall. Visit the Gadhava tribe village and explore their primitiveness. If possible enjoy the tribal dance at tribal village (subject to available of drum men). Overnight stay in hotel in Jeypore .
D8- Kundli market Mali tribe village-
During morning drive to Kundli area to meet Paraja community i.e: Mali tribe (famous for flower cultivation, seasonal vegitable).Overnight stay in Jeypore .
D9- Dhuruba village- weekly Market- cave shrine- Jeypore (80 km one way)
Early stand up for trekking (2hr) towards Dhuruba village enjoy their life style. Enjoy the cave Shiva shrine worshiped by tribe communities. Afternoon explore the weekly market of Dhuruba tribe then return back to Jeypore for overnight staying.
D10- Paraja tribe-coffee gardern- Buddha Kondha Tribe- Rayagada ( 160 km)
Departure for Rayagada Enroute visit the paraja tribe village, enjoy your packet lunch at coffee garden. Enjoy the pre- historic symbol at Buddha kondha village. Then check in a decent hotel at Rayagada for overnight staying.
D11- Lanjia Saura village-Desia Tribe village- ( 80 km one way)
Meet the Lajia Saura tribe at their village, enjoy their dream painting, terrace cultivation, wood plug and typical traditional dress material and many more then drive towards Desia tribe village / surrounding of lush green forest and zig zag hill path. Overnight stay in a same hotel .
D12-Dunguria Kondh tribes- Pottery village- jewellary making village- ( 40 km one way)
During morning after breakfast drive to Majhiguda area to meet the primitive Dunguria Kondh tribes in their weekly market. Further during afternoon visit Pottery making village and Jewellary making village . Return back to Taptapani for overnight stay.
Day 13 Taptapani hill station – Bhubaneswar Chilika Lake– Puri ( 220 km one way)
During morning drive to Puri enroute visit Mangalajodi Lake to take the countryside silent boat to see birds coming from Siberia, Baltic Sea, Lake Baikal, Afghanistan for their winter sojourn. After few hours of boating back to Puri for overnight stay.
Day 14 Puri- Konark- Bhubanswar ( 100 km one way)
During morning visit fishermen village, Priest colony surrounding the Jagannath temple, Raghurajpur painting village and if wish watch the folk dance GOTIPUA. After lunch session visit Konark Sun temple, Dhauli Budhist stupa. Enjoy the sun set in Dhauli Budhist stupa. Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar.
Day 15 – Drive to Dhenakanal Joronda Monastry to visit the half naked sadhus called the Naga Sadhus of Odisha to visit their monastery and their evening prayer and also visit jewellery village. Overnight stay at Joronda or back to Bhubaneswar for overnight stay.
Day 16 Puri- Bhubaneswar ( 70 km one way)
During morning after breakfast visit the temple city such as Lingaraj temple ( from a platform as only Hindust are allowed) , Vaital temple, Mukteswar/Sidheswar/parsurameswar temple. Afternoon visit Khandaigiri/Udaygiri jain caves and tribal museum. During evening board the flight for Delhi.
